Last month, Forbes reported on the Most Trustworthy Companies in America. In this list, we take a look at where investors setting their sights on Western Europe might want to focus their attention.
To develop this ranking, MSCI ESG Research reviewed the accounting and governance behaviors of nearly 4,000 publicly-traded companies across all sectors in Western Europe. Reviewing public filings, the company considered factors such as high-risk events, revenue and expense recognition methods, and bankruptcy risk as indicators of a company’s behavior.
The companies on this list had the 50 highest average scores for trustworthy practices over the four fiscal quarters ended September 30, 2014. For the second year in a row, British and German companies dominate the ranking.
